An AI email assistant uses AI to classify, prioritize, summarize, search and draft your email. emlOPS does that across every connected account in one operational inbox, and keeps preparing a reply and sending it as two separate steps.
What an AI email assistant does
Most assistants help with the same jobs: sort incoming mail, summarize long threads, find information, and draft replies. The differences are in where the assistant lives, how many accounts it covers, and who decides what gets sent.
emlOPS is built around that last question. AI can prepare the work. You authorize the outcome.
What emlOPS does
One operated inbox. Up to eight mailboxes in one operational queue on the Founder plan, with each thread keeping the account that received it (Gmail unified inbox).
AI classification, summaries and drafts. Managed AI is included, with bring-your-own providers when you want them. Drafts carry your signatures, identity and tone, and you can dictate a reply and get a ready-to-review version.
An approval queue. Prepared drafts and sending remain distinct actions. Nothing sends without an authorized human decision: you approve the message, or you switch on automatic replies or a sending policy, which you can turn off at any time. Outbound mail waits out a hold you can cancel.
A ledger of every action. Every draft, action and send is visible on your ledger, and the ledger is exportable.
An agent dock. Keys, webhooks and events for Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP agent you choose, which can send only under a sending policy you approve.
Ask your email
Search every connected account, attachment, project, calendar event and relationship as one knowledge system. Ask in plain language and inspect the source: answers are grounded in messages you can access, with the source threads attached. More in finding information across your email accounts.
How to choose an AI email assistant
Send control. Can it send on its own, and can you see and switch off anything automatic?
Multiple accounts. Does it bring every account you use into one view, and keep the right From identity on each reply?
Data access. Does it connect through the provider's OAuth consent, and can you revoke access?
Attachments. Are attachment files copied to the vendor, or left with your mail provider?
Your own model. Can you choose the AI provider and model, or bring your own?
Audit trail. Is there a log of what the AI prepared, what you approved and what was sent?
Pricing. Is the price published, and what does a team member add?
Refunds. What happens if it does not fit?
Approaches compared
Assistants built into an email client work inside one provider's app, for the account you have open.
Standalone AI inboxes connect your accounts into a separate workspace that sorts and drafts across them.
emlOPS is a standalone operational inbox with an approval queue, a ledger, and an agent dock for the AI agents you already use.
Security and control
OAuth connections avoid shared mailbox passwords and can be revoked from the provider or emlOPS. Attachments remain at the provider and load on demand. Workspace and provider records are tenant scoped, provider credentials are encrypted at rest, and sensitive actions are logged. Read the full security model.
