Does emlOPS send AI-written email for you? No. emlOPS can prepare a reply using recent authorized thread context, but the proposed text is reviewable. You edit or reject it. Saving a provider draft is an explicit action, and final sending stays with your email provider.
That boundary is the reason an AI draft can be useful at work. A plausible sentence is not necessarily a correct promise, a safe disclosure or your voice. Preparation reduces the blank-page problem; approval remains a human decision.
What does emlOPS read before it drafts?
The draft path loads a bounded set of the latest authorized messages in the current conversation at preparation time. It orders the exchange and distinguishes the participants so a reply can address the actual question rather than inventing a new conversation.
For example, a supplier asks whether a changed delivery date is acceptable. A useful draft should recognize the revised date and your previous response, then ask for the missing confirmation. It should not claim that your team approved a schedule you have not approved. The operator still verifies the facts and tone before the provider receives a draft.
The AI does not need unlimited access to be helpful. A specific thread and a clear task are usually better starting points than a vague request to “handle all my mail.”
What happens between the suggestion and a sent message?
- You open an eligible conversation or explicitly prepare a small queue of threads that need attention.
- emlOPS proposes a reply and labels it as an AI-prepared draft in the workspace.
- You inspect the words, recipient and approved From identity. You can revise the text.
- When ready, you save it as a draft with the connected mail provider.
- You send from the provider. emlOPS does not make the send decision for you.
The preparation record is kept before the approval controls are shown, so a refresh should not make paid AI work disappear. If secure persistence fails, the interface is designed to label the proposed reply as temporary rather than pretending it was safely saved.

Can I bring my own AI provider?
emlOPS has two AI payment approaches in the private beta. A managed plan uses emlOPS-provided AI with usage limits and cost controls. A bring-your-own plan lets an operator provide a supported provider key for the current browser session and pay that model provider directly. The app's server chooses audited endpoints and models for supported providers; it does not send the key to an arbitrary URL supplied with a prompt.
The supported BYO paths in the current implementation include OpenAI, xAI and DeepSeek. The exact models, limits and plan prices can change, so use current pricing and the settings available in your account as the source of truth. A key is not required just to understand the workflow, and a BYO model does not get permission to send email on its own.
How do you keep a draft from sounding generic?
Start with the question in the thread, not a universal “professional” tone. A good review checks:
- Is every factual claim supported by the thread or something I know independently?
- Is the ask or answer stated early?
- Does it match the relationship and the identity that will send it?
- Are dates, attachments and promises correct?
- Would I be comfortable seeing it forwarded without the surrounding explanation?
Voice matching from a person's sent mail is an important product direction, but it is not a reason to assume every generated draft already sounds indistinguishable from its owner. The review step is part of the product, not a temporary inconvenience.

Does approving a draft send it immediately?
No. The supported workflow saves a draft to the provider. Sending remains a separate provider action.
Can an AI draft use the wrong sending address?
emlOPS exposes provider-verified From choices and tries to prefer the inbound address. You should check the selected identity before saving any draft, especially when several aliases share a workspace.
Is AI usage unlimited?
No. Managed and BYO requests have separate allowances and guardrails. A long or costly request can consume more than a simple draft; check the current plan terms in Pricing.
